I have a problem of pocket dialing. My phone is in an external holster and it leans up against things all the time. I have locked the phone and that helps stop this, but then when I get a call or need to make a call, the phone is no longer locked. I have to go through the whole process of Menu->Settings & Tolls->Phone Settings->Security->Lock Phone Now.

Does anyone know how to keep the phone locked at all times? I can unlock it with the Unlock tab at bottom and enter my code.

The phone's phone lock feature has two components:

part one:

'Settings & Tools' --> 'Touch Settings' --> 'Auto Lock' : On or Off

'On' signifies that upon the screen dimming and then turning black, the phone will be in the Lock Screen mode after the phone is woken up

'Off' signifies two things after the screen dims and then turns black
- after waking up the phone, the phone is now at the home screen rather than at the Lock Screen
- if 'Auto Lock' is off, then any key physical key will wake up the phone regardless of the choice of 'Unlock Screen' setting (see below)

part two:

'Settings & Tools' --> 'Display Settings' --> 'Unlock Screen' : 'Lock Key Only' or 'Any Key'

If 'Auto Lock' is 'On', then 'Any Key' means that pressing any physical key will wake up the phone and make the 'Lock Screen' appear

If 'Auto Lock' is 'On', then 'Lock Key Only' means that the physical lock key on the side of the phone is the only key that will wake up the phone and make the 'Lock Screen' appear

I have 'Auto Lock' set to 'On' and 'Unlock Screen' set to 'Lock Key Only'; so far I have not ever had any phone features accidentally get turned on.

And the admin of this forum posted a tip that I use all the time:
http://www.samsung-reality.com/samsung-reality-tips-tricks/unlock-screen-trick/

If the screen is black and 'Auto Lock' is set to 'On', press and hold the physical lock key for three seconds both to wake up the phone and also unlock the Lock Screen.

If the phone is displaying the Lock Screen, press and hold the physical lock key for three seconds to unlock the Lock Screen.

OK. Thanks. I didn't have the Unlock Screen set to Lock Key Only. Now I do and that should help.
