This has nothing to do with harddisk memory, it has to do with Random Access Memory or RAM. Ram in our phones is built-in instant memory that is used by the phone when, for example, loading websites. These phones have a full HTML browser, but unfortunately they don't have the necessary amount of RAM to handle more than the most simple HTML sites. Anything with lots of pictures, flash, etc that would use alot of ram will kill it. A recent example I encountered: Google is VERY easy on ram, and it uses a mobile version to boot that's even better. If you go to a flash/advertisements-heavy site like Carcraft.com, the entire page tries to load into RAM so that you can view it by just scrolling etc. However, it's just too much, and it won't load the entire thing no matter what you do.
Solution, unfortunately, is to upgrade to a smartphone that's built for that kind of stuff, but who want's to do that when they can take advantage of Verizon deals and get a free 3g phone? I didn't, I have a laptop for heavy browsing.
