I have my Reality use Mobile Mail to check 2 of my email accounts. It doesn't seem very reliable as sometimes I'll check my email from my PC and I will have messages but Mobile Mail doesn't seem to know there is mail. BTW... in the settings of Mobile Mail I have it to always notify me of new mail.
I have done a couple of test by sending email from one account to the other and sometimes Mobile Mail sees it and notifies me within a few minutes and other times I don't get notified at all.
Is anyone else having this problem or does anyone have any suggestions?

I am having the same problem. Actually, my hotmail account is somewhat reliable in notifying me of emails, but my gmail account doesn't ever notify me that I have emails. This is frustrating. Anyone have any idea why this happens?

I've noticed the same thing...could be just a connection breakdown between the email server & verizon?

Hey Fellas, I believe this is an Email application problem, not really related to the phone itself .. I've had delay issues on other phones running basically the same mail application..... Sometimes when the application is updated (not real often) it works superb for awhile, before issues start again.. I think it has to do more with how the email sites communicates with the email program & the Verizon Network..... Anyone with any REAL answers here???

No real answers but called verizon on this issue and they put in a ticket to the IT group to research. They are "looking into it." I'll let you know if I hear anything.

Mmracing indicated in their post that in the settings Mobile Mail can notify you of email. Which settings is this? Is this under Settings & Tools? I didn't think the Reality would notify you when you get an email. Please go into detail on how to do this.

You have to update the settings for each account you want the Reality to check. Just set up the email account then check for email. On the screen that checks for email (not the one where you choose the account) you choose "Options" and then "Settings". There is where you change the setting to have the Reality notify you of new email. You have to do this for all email accounts you are checking.

Hi kellyrobison The Realitys built in Email program will notify you of new emails for each account you setup... First bring up the email application, Once you have the application running.. Pick one of your email accounts that you have set up, Press select.. Once the account opens and you are in your inbox... Tap the Options key... Scroll down and Tap Settings.. There at the top you will fine 'Alert Me For New Messages' Pick the options you want.. Note: You must do this for each individual account that you have set up....

Question: Is the e-mail there if you manually check for it?
If so then this probably has to do with the frequency with which the app checks for new mail. I believe this isn't a push model. So the app needs to wake up periodically to check for new mail. If this is frequency is once an hour, and the app just checked before the new mail came in, then it'll be another hour before you are notified.
I didn't see a knob for setting the polling rate so the app developer is playing a game between being timely in e-mail notification and being kind to your battery.

For the last 2 hours ive been sending mail to self checking on the notification. All E mails notified me within 2 minutes that i had mail except for 1. After 7 minutes I was not notified so i manually went to yahoo and the mail was not there. It took 11 minutes to get the notification but I believe it was either a problem with my work server or yahoo cause like i said i looked after 7 minutes and it was not there.

sometimes when i send myself something from my yahoo it takes quite a while to get to my own inbox. so maybe it is a reflection of yahoo and not the reality mail client.

I did some Email Application experimenting today ....... I turned on the notifier to all my accounts that I check regularly... the only account that seemed to lag behind for me, is my favorite (of course that is how it works i guess) gMail. Sometimes I get a timely notice, other times no notice at all.... AOL, Yahoo, Live, RoadRunner and an odd one called GMX were fast at notifying me of the arrival of new mail... Too fast, As during Prime Time Mid Day, My Phone wouldn't stop with the notifications.... One after another..... Turned them all off now except for Live & gMail....
