If you are at a favorite website and want to sign-up for their alerts and they ask you for your mobile phone's email address so they can text you the alerts - just use

1234567890@vtext.comThe alerts will come over as a text message. And this could also be helpful in other situations. Maybe a friend or family member is at work and can't be texting you during the day, so instead they can send an email to your phone that will come over as a text message. BUT if you hit reply and text back, it will not go to their email address. I tried and it didn't work. So this emailed text trick is really just one way - TO you. Useful for alerts from websites.
Also, another option to keep in mind for easily sending media to your phone from your computer (or anyone else's computer): simply send an email from the computer to
yournumber@vzwpix.comDon't forget to first attach the pics, ringtones, sounds or videos to the email. Then once the message arrives on your phone, you can Save the media onto your phone.
