Maybe there's some place you have to drive to that you don't know how to get to or maybe you're going on a trip and will be driving a car at your destination.

Look up the address at maps.google.com (or any similar site like maps.yahoo.com or mapquest.com)

Press Alt+PrtSc to take a screenshot.

Open a program like Microsoft Paint, and press Ctrl+V to paste the screenshot. Then save the image as a .jpg file.

Place this file into the "my_files" folder on your memory card.

The Reality/u370's File Viewer lets you use the entire screen to view your map and zoom in/out and gives you a very sharp and very easy to read view of the map. You can also use the zoom function of the phone's picture viewer to view the map after you put a copy of the map into the pictures folder on the memory card, but the view of the map is fuzzier (you'll see what I mean).

To capture as much information as possible in the screenshot, press F11 to enlarge the web browser and then press Alt+Prtsc to take a screenshot.

If you want to get fancy, you can use a free program like Irfanview to trim the parts of the screenshot that you don't need.

See the third post in this thread (below) for information on how to zoom in/out in File Viewer

there is really no need to do that, as bing maps will show you the map each and every time.

you could also use the navigator, which is currently free to reality users, and included in the $10/month 75MB data plan

Hi,

Around March or April of this year, Samsung re-released the Reality under the model number u370 which is being sold by indirect Verizon retailers.

About the only difference is that the u370 does not require a data plan.

Personally, I don't think $ 10 for 75mb with an overage rate of $ 10 for another 75mb is a reasonable data plan. The next plan after that is a big jump in price to $ 30 for 2gb. And under the terms of our Nationwide family plan a customer is billed at $1.99 per MB.

This new 75MB/navigator bundle is a better deal, but unfortunately Verizon recently tweaked the rules so that for subscriptions after 07/07/11 usage of navigator will deduct from the 75MB.

This was recently posted by a Verizon employee:

It's true that the 75MB data feature for $10.00 per month did include access to VZ Navigator. If you had the plan prior to 07/07/11, then data usage resulting from using VZ Navigator was unlimited. Adding the feature since 07/07/11 means that usage of the service will deduct from the 75MB allowance.

For customers in the position that my family is in where we have two u370 phones and there isn't yet a data plan that's a good fit for us, that's why I found it to be handy to use File Viewer for a screencapture of a map.

But since this forum's reason for existing is the Reality and since the Reality requires at a minimum the $ 10/mo data plan, I recognize your point and I can see how my post would be any of any possible benefit just to a u370 owner.
