I just got the Samsung Reality and I activated it and everything. But when I noticed I had old software on it and went to get the new software update my phone get's stuck in a reboot loop where it keeps resetting over and over again. Is there a solution to fix this problem?

I'm having this very same issue. It's a bit frustrating, seeing that it is a new phone and that it immediately went into it post-activation. I've stopped it from updating the first time after it went through this:

5%…10%…25%…reboot…

0%…reboot..

Repeat.

I started the update again, and it's stuck in the reboot cycle again as I'm typing this.

Anybody here have a solution?

Yeah I wen't to the store yesterday and got a brand new one and as soon as I got in the car it started doing it again. So they had to update it via computer. Tongue

I too am having the same problem. I bought the phone and then did some shopping in near by stores. About 45 minutes later, I was getting ready to head home and noticed the phone kept rebooting and said it was uploading software but never went farther then 0%. It kept shutting off and on so I went back to Best Buy, where I bought the phone and she turned off the update. She said when I charged my phone it would automatically update the software and then everything would be fine.
I decided to try charging it, just to be sure all would be fine and so far there hasn't been any indication that the phone is updating the software. It just says charging battery.
That was 2 hours ago. I'm not sure how long it's suppose to take to charge the phone but when it does, will there be a way I can tell if it also updated the software?
If not, can you get it updated through the computer over the phone?

After trying to update my Reality, I too had the constant boot loop problem.  I did get it to stop after repeatedly pressing the End/Power button as it was booting up.  It took me to the home screen and I kept moving around to different screens like the menu, contacts, etc.  It took a couple/three tries of doing this, but the phone is functional again.

Needless to say, I won't be trying to update any more unless I take it to a Verizon store.

I'm disappointed it won't update the way it should.  I did have a new roaming update that went well earlier this week.  At least the phone works again.

I called Verizon's technical support yesterday to see if they could help me update the software. The tech told me to go into Settings & Tools and look for phone info.
She then said to check the tab for software updates. There's two tabs under that tab. One for Status and one for check new.
My status tab said I rejected the update but when I click check for new, it says connecting and then goes back to the main screen so the tech said that means there is no new update because the phone ended up updating itself.
Doesn't make a whole lot of sense but she seems to think my phone got updated.
I would think the status would have changed to refleck that but what do I know.

Well as it turned out, my phone hadn't updated the software and today it gave me a message saying there was new software so I tried to update it again.
This time after a few minutes, it just gave up and my software update status said it failed so I went back to Best Buy with the phone.
They swapped it out for another phone and that too wouldn't update the software so they told me I should go to the Verizon store and have them do it on their computers.
Fortunately there was a store almost across the street from Best Buy so I stopped there and they were able to update the software.
It took about 15 minutes but now the phone has the latest software.
Hopefully there's no other problems with it.
