no can do hombre. Forum rules. I can suggest you look at mobile-files.com and other cell phone forums, and search for samsungpstlite.zip or something similar

If you don't recognize a .rar file, I would recommend you wait until we figure out how to do this a little more easily before you attempt it. I don't mean to sound condescending, but this involves a relatively high chance of turning your phone into a worthless hunk of plastic.
I've been playing with this, trying to get it to work, but no luck so far. Basically we're missing the .dll file that allows Samsung PST or PSTLite to understand out phone. It will probably pop up soon, but I haven't gotten my hands on it yet. I'll update you when I do.
JOEYM2 WHERE ARE YOU?
.rar files open with WinRAR or other compression software like 7zip.

I am a simple folk haha. While I may have more experience with this kind of thing, I am still just getting my head around everything compared to most of the guys I talk to and learn from.
I am actually really glad to have people enthused about working with the phone, and God knows we could use the extra eyes and brains. I just wanted to make sure you know what you're getting into, and didn't end up with a busted phone because some knucklehead (me) on the internet said it would work.
Hit up mobile-files.com and howardforums, and gsmhosting, and start poking around and reading up. What you need to know more about specifically is: Qualcomm CDMA, BREW, etc. Ask me any questions, and if I know, I'll tell you, and If I don't I'll look it up. Google everything you don't understand, and GOOD LUCK!

so wait, when you say, "using the reality as a modem," does that mean you can use the verizon signal ANYWHERE and get wireless on a laptop?
i'm sorry if this is like, super basic.

I used QPST and was finally able to connect to my reality and read data. I found
myphonenumber@dun.vzw3g.com
and changed it to
myphonenumber@vzw3g.com
and wrote it back to the phone.
When I dialup using #777 and try to go to a website, the webpage for verizon dial up agreement still displays. I cleared my cache and cookies, but it still takes me to verizon
Looks like there is more that has to be done than what I am doing....
anyone have any clues/suggestions?

I found the Samsung Lite ver. joey is using and I also downloaded the USB drivers for samsung phones off VZAM *edit for dyslexia U960 IS listed but still doesn't see my phone, gonna try reinstalling.
I'm playing with this now too as I'm curious but I still can't get it either, probably because my PC doesn't see my phone.
At any rate if anyone still needs the files PM me.
drblythe, I don't know what QPST is but is your PC seeing your reality when it's plugged into a USB port? My PC pops up with Samsung CDMA in the tray and then asks to install and of course there's no drivers so it says there was a problem and nothing sees my phone.
EDIT2: I still can't get VZAccess Manager to see my phone even though windows sees it when I select media sync on the phone, the tray icon pops up and my handset says connected so I'm clueless at this point as far as getting my PC to see my phone for modem purposes.

... is your PC seeing your reality when it's plugged into a USB port?
Yes my PC is seeing my reality when its plugged into my usb port. I installed the modem drivers from verizon and selected the port that is shows as diagnostic in device manager.
It also works as a modem when I use dialup connection on my PC, except it still takes me to verizons page that talks about how much it cost to use instead of the website I typed in.
Good luck, and please let us know if you hear that anyone has been successful doing this.

1. Uninstall everything you have done so far. USB drivers, Vcast-Rhapsody, and anything else. Reboot.
2. Uninstall Windows Media Player and Runtime components under Add/Remove Programs & Windows Components. Reboot.
3. Goto Windows update to D/L Windows Media Player 11. Reboot. Launch WM11 and set it as default for all options.
4. Install Samsung USB Drivers from here
http://www.vzam.net/vcastmusic/Step3.aspx?modelID=35&driverFile=SamsungUSBDriver_4_40_7_0_v1_6.zip
Reboot.
5. Connect Reality via USB to PC. It should now detect it and install all drivers properly.
This is instructions to get Rhapsody to detect your phone but it installs the drivers for you.
*UPDATE*
Ok... so I just ran that and it worked... it installed everything without an error and it shows up in Device Manager as "Samsung Mobile Modem Diagnostic Serial Port (WDM)(COM 3)" and not as the triangle with

I had to disable the modem in my computer before it would see my reality as a modem.

I'll try all that here in a second but I already have that showing up in my Device Manager and that's what I had selected to install as far as drivers, the Samsung Mobile Modem Diag etcetc.
I also already have WMP 11 installed but WinAmp is my default player, dunno if that matters, but like I said I'll try this in a little bit.

Well, this is all to get the Rhapsody working so you don't really need to follow those steps, lol. The rest works, though.
